are you denying illegal immigrants live in Socal especially L.A? so your telling me that the nightlife of S.D is on the level of MIA, Vegas, NY, SF? are you denying S.D is attractive only to farmer class people? are you denying S.D has a POS economy? didnt think so, but you were same person to claim NOLA is most unique city in world, S.D downtown can rival NY, Boston, PHILA, and NE is low budget version of Europe.
you have no credibility to speak of
Are you going off on more random tangents? YES
Never denied illegals are present in SoCal, but either way they aren't everywhere. Never claimed nightlife in SD is on the level of Mia, Vegas, NY, or SF at all ever. I said it has arguably the largest and busiest single nightlife district on the west coast, meaning CA, OR, and WA but that doesn't imply it has the BEST nightlife overall. And I never claimed downtown SD can rival that of NYC, Boston, Philly and never said the NE was a low budget Europe at all. Never claimed NOLA was the most unique city in the WORLD either, I think it is in the US and so did the majority of people on this site. Like many things, you just made all of that up.
Culture is definitely Boston. Boston has been a social culture center since the 1600s. Unless of course one wants the beach, then obviously SD.
Sports: Boston sports teams have national appeal, particularly the Red Sox, unlike the San Diego teams.
Power: Boston if taken city to city context, but San Diego being in California might tip this balance.
Influence to World: Boston is more well known than San Diego.
Economics: Boston is more blue collar and does have some professional white collar jobs to support the blue collar appeal. San Diego has more high tech and venture capital type stuff.
Dining: Boston except for Chinese and Mexican food.
Downtown: Boston though San Diego is starting to thrive.
Park: San Diego has more parks, but the Boston Commons are more well known.
Rail: Boston has MUCH better public transit.
Universities: Boston is the university capital of the world. 250,000 students in Boston.
Overall: It is a tossup. If one wants a very urban, walkable city, with lots of different cultural activities, then Boston. If one wants the beach, a more laid back atmosphere, more good weather and outdoor activities, then San Diego.
In an otherwise penalty-free post, you committed a "false-start" infraction when you stated that Boston has "some" white-collar jobs---understatement of the year.
It's kind of like comparing apples and oranges...
There are things I love about Boston (culture, history) and things I hate (weather, mindset).
There are things I love about San Diego (weather, beaches) and things I hate (blandness, lack of green)
I guess I don't understand why some people get their knickers all in a twist over one city or the other - they both have their pluses and their minuses, like any other city.
Boston by a landslide. But if someone told me I had to move to San Diego, I would have absolutely no problem with it , and be on my way with a smile on my face lol (this sentiment will only strengthen over the quickly approaching winter months).
okay okay, but I didnt spell it out, but anyway.....
I said: "Boston wins all categories except weather, and "where people want to friggin live"
