Um, you need to read your own post, Dannyy.

Three of the top four universities are in the NYC CSA.

So, by your chosen definition, NYC is the education capital of the U.S.

06. Philadelphia
07. Washington DC-Baltimore
08. Atlanta
09. Research Triangle
And, of course, you personal rankings have nothing to do with the stats you posted, so you are just being a homer.

For example, you are ranking Chicago ahead of NYC when the best Chicago university would only be #4 in NYC, and when NYC has FAR more universities in the Top 50.

NYC has 7 in the top 50, including 3 of the top 4.

Chicago has 2 in the top 50.

I've seen this list before and can point out what I consider to be a few faults...

1. CU Boulder, Ohio State, University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin, Penn St, Southern Cal, and Rutgers are all supposedly superior to Brown. Oh, and Dartmouth isn't ranked in the top 100...meaning Arizona effing State is a superior institution to Dartmouth?!

2. University of Virginia is ranked #96, behind the aforementioned schools along with ASU, U. of Arizona, Texas A&M, Michigan St, and Florida, among others.

3. #49 is a hospital.

Glad to see a New Jersey university on the list, as well as universities in my neighbor states of Pennsylvania and New York. The Northeast States are well represented and continue to dominate.

I would agree, and this is about the worst ranking I have seen.

Arizona State better than Dartmouth??

Random hospitals being included on a list of universities??

Yeah, but my alma mater makes that list, and our cross town rival doesn't. Whereas the US News version has it the other way around!

It seems people have issues with one list or another. Which I guess attest to the fact that you can't please everyone. Ultimately, what the premise of this article attempts to answer is what schools in the nation are producing quality graduates.
