Beyond ridiculous, and you know it. Will this obsession ever end?

Duh. I was explicitly talking about downtown Orlando, and downtown Disney is not in downtown Orlando.

The drivers drive me insane, and it makes me nervous thinking about our kids driving with these idiots. It may be the same in Charlotte, I dont know. I do think Orlando has less crime and gnags than Charlotte though.
I doubt that.

It is however the most known downtown and the one most people visit, which is why Disney built it in the first place.

Downtown Orlando and Downtown Disney are not one in the same.

Pure bs, and you know it.

It's in Lake Buena Vista, 17 miles southwest of the real Downtown.

You have absolutely no facts to back up that assertion. And at any rate, this isn't even the subject of the thread so there's really nothing else to discuss here.

Since you prefer North Carolina, if you have the opportunity to stay up there I would take it. Charlotte's a nice city, in fact the downtowns of both cities are similar in scope. You are probably not as much concerned about Orlando's advantages...nightlife, theme parks, easy day trips to beach. I can't imagine that Orlando has an advantage in schools. The economy in Charlotte is better too, so if you had to get a different job you would probably have a better chance up there.
