Philly did not make the top 25...great job. Cities with smaller areas will get higher homicide rates and feel more dangerous because there is less room for good neighborhoods to balance it out than say larger cities like Chicago or Philadelphia.
I'm amazed at Detroit...like is it really that grim there? Detroit must be the most miserable city in the US.
Location: Detroit's eastside, downtown Detroit in near future!

Not even num 1 and yet people still make assumptions. smh
& and instead of asking "is it really that grim there" smh why don't see for yourself
I really feel sorry for Camden, they just never seem to catch a break. What a drag on the County that must be.
If it were just a local issue, it wouldn't be as devestating, but Camden unfortunately isn't just a drag on Camden County (which has a number of nice towns such as Collingswood and Cherry Hill), but the entire state of New Jersey, being its second largest city. The largest city, Newark, in the county which I reside (Essex County) is a tremendous strain on both the county and state as well.
In 2009, Essex and Camden counties made up over 80% of the crime in New Jersey. In a state of 21 counties.
Location: Metro Atlanta (Sandy Springs), by way of Macon, GA

Newark (273k)
Jersey City (240k)
Paterson (149k)
Elizabeth (120k)
Edison (97k)
Toms River (86k)
Trenton (85k)
For some reason, we had always seen Camden as New Jersey's "second city".
