please dude. nova's the silicon valley of the east coast and growing probably better than silicon valley now and va's like best place to start a busines in 2010. quit it w/ the whole bit about it being all gov't around here.
High tech by itself doesn't account for VA's GDP growth. The federal government played a pretty significant role in that.

I think the other states mentioned in the thread against VA could give it a run for its money. However, VA does get props for having less people than the other two but having a higher GDP. NC has a school(Duke) that was once going to be apart of the Southern Ivy League athletic association, called the Magnolia league. All three have schools that are considered public ivies.

Now since you're being a know it all, how about you tell everyone on here about every southern state. What you know about Mississippi? Arkansas? Kentucky? Florida? South Carolina? Tennessee? Oklahoma? Alabama? Virginia? Texas? Georgia? North Carolina? Louisiana?
