that is what I said, read back my post, I mentioned I would be excited too if almost all of the top tallest were recently built. we have not had a supertall in over 20 years
yes i know what you said.... but the way you phrase it is a bit condescending towards the city.
can you handle a simple question? the post sounded a little winding.
well it was not directed at you, you were not in the loop. If you don't know what people are talking about it is best not to assume. and you were aggressive in your questioning.
when you said made your Austin/ Seattle comment I didn't come at you like "So Austin is like Seattle now?"
you ask a question in a hostile manner don't expect a sweet response.

i have no idea what you're talking about. i think we are lost in translation. i don't know what you mean by my hostile or aggressive questioning. i only asked if you thought houston was more urban than san francisco because the post was a little winding. if i'd of said you have a low comprehension skill, or you don't know how to read then i would be hostile. but i didn't. i admit i didn't know the context of it but that's exactly why i asked the question in the first place. i didn't want to assume and i didn't assume. i simply asked if you were saying that Houston was more urban than San Francisco.
but now since you mention it... what was my comment on austin/seattle? go ahead and quote it. i simply said if all goes as planned austin is steering in the direction of a city like seattle. if anybody would think that i said austin is like seattle..... it wouldn't even come as near as to how i read your post. yours wasn't as clear since it was in reference to another discussion. and since we're talking about texas cities, its quite easy for someone to miss the fact that you were comparing it to philadelphia if they're just skimming through these posts. plus it was like 2am and i was sleepy.
did you check out that link by the way? it is quite impressive.... and yes, aesthetically speaking if Austin can get their sh*t done it will be closing in on other urban cities in the nation. it's going to take some time but if you love Texas then you should be happy for your state capital to be progressing quite nicely.
i always get excited with other Texas' cities projects. why shouldn't other texans feel the same towards their neighboring cities? it fascinates me how the neighboring Texas cities always try cutting each other down. i don't get it.
all the conversation in this thread has been hostile, what do you expect?
which is stupid and pointless and dorky. i don't see why people argue over which city is more urban to the point where they have to insult each other.
so what do i expect? smarter people is what i expect. the fact is that no Texas cities are true urban cities.... they just have "some" things that are urban but that doesn't make them urban. I personally think that Austin has more of it.... but it's no big deal. So long as people appreciate the cities for what they are.
I saw Louis CK about 2 weeks ago. He was talking about this very thing and said how he hates when people boo or cheer certain cities. If you boo a certain city you are booing all the good and honest hard working people that live there. And if you cheer a city, you're also cheering all the rapists, criminals and pedophiles. That being said, I think for the most part that is why a lot of people get offended on here because people can make some incredible claims in order to cut down on certain cities and put their own cities on a better light.
Everyone can have their preferences, but it's all subjective. I prefer Austin over Houston because of the lifestyle that Austin offers. More singles per capita, more younger people my age, everything is closer, it's easier to get around, I don't need a vehicle, I'm a big music fan, I'm a big movie fan.... Austin answers on all those notes. That's not to say that Houston doesn't have anything like that.... I'm just saying Austin delivers it more nicely. It caters specifically to people with my taste. Does that mean that I do not enjoy Houston? Nope, I love it there. I like visiting and it appeals to me a lot. I just wouldn't live there again unless it was in one of those nice condos near a cool neighborhood like Westheimer or something.
