I know right. Ridiculous. Especially in a year when Philadelphia is seeing extremely impressive drops in crime. Homicide down 30%. Overall crime down 10%

Why would they even show that on LA local news? Usually crime news for a city are local unless it's something that reaches the national media like a serial killer or bombings. I just find that a little hard to believe that the Los Angeles local news would go out of it's way to broadcast a local crime report for a city that is 3000 miles away. Did LA send their local news reporters to Philly to have live on-site coverage?

It's not that uncommon for local news stations to show a story or two about something happening in other cities. It was on there. I have no reason to lie about it. Fox has affiliates across the country. So does CBS, ABC & NBC. There's no need to send a local reporter to another city.

Philly's murder rate is down 43%, but what does it mean? | Philadelphia City Paper | 02/21/2013

Also in Philly if you are not a drug dealer or involved in crime you have a very low chance of being murdered. So if you are drug dealer or involved in crime you may not be safe

There are awful neighborhods in Philly and perfectly fine ones, I chose to live in a perfectly fine one with no issues

I wonder if the Los Angeles local news reported the information about Philly's murder rate decreasing. I'm sure that would make the local noon news.
