Spokane-Boise-Reno.

Three decently mid-sized regional hubs of the inner-mountain west region lying between the Cascade/Sierra chain and the Rocky Mountains...Fairly conservative in some ways, yet they've attracted recent transplants for their quieter pace and quality of life. Close proximity to mountains and outdoor attractions, but still are mostly off the national radar and don't get much media attention. And all three have mid-major conference college sports teams that are probably the biggest source of local pride--Spokane-Gonzaga basketball, Boise-Boise State football, and now the Nevada Wolfpack for football.
