A flood protection site in Dallas is being transformed into America’s largest urban park. The economic and ecological benefits of conserving this slice of North Texas are destined to reverberate well beyond the city limits. Blackland Prairie is the most endangered large ecosystem in North America. The development that is underway —thankfully — to preserve this remnant of our past will also shore up our natural assets for the future.

exactly, if I wanted that style park I can just go out in nature. Dallas isn't that urban to begin with so you don't get the nice contrast you get in Central Park, or Lincoln Park or Golden Gate Park...

This just in Jacksonville, FL is the largest city in the United States.

the Trinity project is set for 10 000acres, there are already urban parks that are larger.

But Dallas always seem to market themselves as being the best or largest when they are not.

Central Park is not big at all, it is not even the largest urban park in NYC. The reason its well known is because of its location, thats the only thing going for it. Its just a tourist trap, so everyone who visits NY goes to CP and thinks its the only park NY has. The parks in other boroughs are much more impressive.

Here's a list of the largest urban parks in the world:

Urban park - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are several in the US that are bigger.

That being said, this is still awesome for Dallas. Seems like the city is growing in amenities and getting better by the second. If only it had a great research university, then I think it'd complete a pretty good package.

lol,

here:

South Mountain Preserve is 16 000 Acres
Carvins Cove is 12 700 acres
McDowells is 11, 250 acres

Lol, Dallas tell us how your economy is one of the most diverse in the world and your fashion industry is on par with Paris and Milan?

BTW Renaud, Houston already has 2 parks that size. The article posted said that the Trinity project is gonna be 6000 acres of forest, GB and Cullen park are both larger
