It was in a rural area then that is now part of Atlanta's sprawl. It still qualifies as the "Atlanta area," which is what my post said. No contradiction here.
So where exactly were these gay neighborhoods in Houston Dallas or Atlanta, in the 60s. Do they have a name?
All I know about is Montrose is Houston and Oak Lawn in Dallas. I can't tell you about Atlanta, but ATL "downlow" scene started becoming very prominent during the Motown era.

Running through the center of Oak Lawn from downtown to Love Field is Cedar Springs Road, which has housed the center of the Dallas gay community (also called the Dallas-Gayborhood) for over 35 years at the intersection of Cedar Springs Road and Throckmorton Street.

60s are not the 70s... 60s were far outttt man, and the south was a bit behind as was Chicago a bit compared to NYC/SF.
I'm pretty sure New Orleans gay scene was a predecessor to those in Dal/Hou/Atl as well...

If this isn't an extremely rare occurrence in Atlanta, then why not make it easy on people and just say when and where it happened. It's your story, but so far the only proof you have offered up (aside from insults) is to say that "It happened." Do you really think that the posters on here calling you out are lying (despite the fact most of them are black including myself) to cover up some sort of epidemic problem?
