Not sure if this would count as #6 for Atlanta, but this guy was shot then drove off and crashed into an oncoming car. Cause of death has yet to be determined whether he died from the shot or the crash.

2 weeks into 2011 and Orlando has one murder and Orange County has another. Not sure if the other counties in the metro have any but 1 a week is pretty good and we'll take it as a vast improvement from times past... let's just hope it lasts.

NYC actually had only 1, you were looking at week to date stats, which included late December. They could have double digits by the time they update, though. Which could be 3 weeks from now, knowing how compstat is.

yea nyc had 1 murder as of 01/02/11 but even the dailynews kept me more updated because around the 4th of January they had a article saying nyc had 4 murders to date on the 4th. Since then the nydailynews had like 5 murders being reported such as the 2 murders in Manhattan, the murder in the Bronx and the 2 murders in brooklyn.

so their no doubt nyc is above the double digits right now.

and looking at gothamist right now their seems to be 2 murders in brooklyn a murder last night in queens and another pair of shootings that took place in bronx and brooklyn.

DC has 5. N/M, I see PG has been discussed. I think PG is going to calm down but that is still wild. They more than double DC right now. I wonder where most of PG's murders have been?

Where did you get the 8 from Houston? Houston press has Houston at 5.
