In New Orleans crime is going in a good direction, unfortunately, murder of late, is going in the opposite direction.

The overall crime rate has allways been middle of the pack and murder rates have been for the most part leading the pack.

* The Detroit Police started releasing 'Daily Crime Reports' this year, where they report the serious crimes (murders, robberies, etc) that occurred the previous day. According to those reports, there have been about 30 homicides, but there have been at least 2 more reported in the news that the PD did not release any info about.

It definitely was a bad year by Boston standards in 2010. Total of 72 for the year (Includes the metro area). This date last year there were 8 murders, so 2 is a step in the right direction.
