It's definitely distinctive from Atlanta, hard to sum it up in just words, that is why I picked the video so people can see for themselves.

Every place is different, but what i find funny is that you put up a video from 1996 (it is now 2011) and still think Atlanta is close to that. Atlanta is totally different than in 1996. Atlanta really did not start to develop until after the Olympics.

And how. That was 17 years and 2 million people ago. This city is much, much, much different place now. Aside from that though, anyone who watched that and didn't think they were just hamming up the Southern angle is just intentionally being dumb. One for thinking that it supposed to be a representation of life in Atlanta (it wasn't) and secondly for looking down on it.

Anyway, enough of that nonsense. These two videos give you a better idea of modern Atlanta. You know, the one that exists right now in 2011

Atlanta has been booming since reconstruction, the city didn‘t pop up over night, but yeah after the Olympics Atlanta gain over 150K in the city limits. And the ARC really been pro new urban since 2000 so a lot has change between 1996 and 2011.

Post Houston and Dallas videos also, to get an ideal of the culture and the plans leaders are trying to make in those cities.

but what happened that it's not doing too good now?
I understand, different strokes for different folks, right?

Houston has two of those type of developments coming in also. The "Transit Oriented Development sort" I believe is what they officially call it or whatever, and these are both well underway. Both funded for and approved to be built alongside transit lines. There are a few others also and I'll share them in a bit but these first.

Let me show you the pictures for those. I really love the aspect of this site where we really do get to share new developments, I like learning about the new stuff and the stuff that exists. It's using this site for what it was created for, LOL.

Someone elses turn to show some of the developments in Atlanta & Dallas-Fort Worth now. I don't want to double post this haha. But I really do want to take advantage of this thread and see what each of these cities are doing for their developments.

but that's the thing about AS. it's not just the location but the sheer size of it. it's practically a city within a city. I believe it even has its own zip code

Houston had a development planned like that; remember the Hardy Rail Yard project??? It was cancelled though. sucks.

I actually had faith in that project and was pissed when it didn't go through. It really would've made a huge impact on the Houston community. It was also close to downtown.

As a Prairie View A&M student, you have no idea how happy I am to see that first pic. I even posted it to my facebook and mom (went to PVAMU as well...).
