Alright guys what city in the south gives you that "big city" feeling?

My Picks would be Houston/Atlanta for scale of the city and driving through, Miami/New Orleans for street level and urbanity.

I would agree...

Based on perception Houston and Miami would prob feel bigger due to its large urban core. DFW is bi polar metro but it feels larger and expansive than all 4 in my opinion. One upside to DFW is Arlington is developing a core near the Cowboys stadium and Fort Worth Trinity River project is still in on going project. In the future DFW could feel larger and similar to the bay area if Fort Worth would realize its the 16th largest city in the U.S.. Be bold and flex your muscle build some skyscrapers Fort Worth. Atlanta is weird case it has the sky scrapers and traffic but it doesnt feel as developed within city limits as Dallas, Houston, and Miami metros, but I am sure many would disagree.

Yes, I didn't want to say this because people would accuse me of being a homer, but IMHO DFW has the most potential of rivaling the "big boys" in the future. Take a look at our metro and there is nothing stopping us from growing east/west/north/south, out metro could become a monster in the future, however we should also try to grow more urban (vertical) instead of massive sprawl.

How??? It takes much more than growth to become a world class city and Dallas is far from it. Houston and Miami are you closes bets.

Houston has the offerings of a World Class Economy; while Miami has a World Class image. Atlanta and Dallas are in the middle.

Houston economic wise is already competing with the big boys. It just lacks the cultural influence amongst cities its size.

This is why I didn't want to make that comment, I knew consequences would come with it, I was strictly talking about population to answer your question.

You just jealous...no need to hate on the 4th largest metro in the county and the largest in the south.
