Hmm...I was thinking Houston or Philly. A lot of black women I know don't like Los Angeles. I have a couple of buddies out there too who say that it's not really a good place to be unless you're tied into the scene. My sense of Los Angeles is that the social scene is not really a professional one. It's more like Atlanta where everyone has some tertiary connection to the entertainment industry.

That is one of the biggest load of crap I've ever read on this site. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I do the same thing in Chicago, I have to wear collared and tie to work but bring a change of clothes with me if I know I am going out right afterwards as that look just doesn't represent me. People in DC/NYC are much more career minded in general so maybe it comes with the territory, and well, why they are more buppie material. Atlanta and Chicago both are more laid back (but in different ways) That doesn't mean I can't look fashionable or classy, I just don't like the corporate suit and tie look, that isn't necessary classy nor fashionable, just looks like a business person.

Lord, posting videos and pictures won't prove anything. We don't know these people and know nothing about their background education or what's their occupation. Just because it looks like something; doesn't mean it's not.
1.NYC
2.DC
3.ATL
4.Chicago
5.Houston/LA
As far as dress styles; Buppies will differ in different parts of the country. I don't see how dress style makes one more buppiefied than another.
I think Houston maybe more like LA where buppies are more mixed in with yuppies.

What are you talking about? Los Angeles is an "industry" town. I have a few friends out there who are entertainment lawyers and I went to school with a guy who works for Will Smith. That's why people go to LA; they don't go there to become antitrust attorneys and investment bankers. If you want to be among the very best professionals, you're more likely to head to NYC, DC, Chi-Town, or even Atlanta than you are to Los Angeles.
Best Art Scene = NYC
Finance = NYC
Accounting = NYC
Orchestra = NYC
Stage/Acting/Broadway = NYC
Advertising = NYC/Chicago
Politics = DC
Law = DC/NYC
Movies/Music = LA/NYC/ATL

Is trash. It makes it seem like Atlanta is all about the entertainment industry when that is far from the truth. Most people here are not affiliated with entertainment. This is just more stereotyping to make Atlanta look like a "black Hollywood" with nothing else.

I never said Atlanta had nothing else. But it's undeniable that Atlanta has a strong "industry" scene and that much of the social scene revolves around the "industry." In DC, Corey Booker or Van Jones is likely to be a bigger draw to an event than Young Jeezy or T.I. In Atlanta, I'm not so sure about that...
Industry Crowd or Young Black Professionals? Can you Keep Up?

You don't know that. You think everyone here is some sort of thug who could care less about intellectual pursuits and only wants to hear mainstream rap.

I used to live in Atlanta, fam. The celebrities there are Jeezy, Beyonce, and T.I. In DC, the celebrities are the POTUS, Nancy Pelosi, and James Carville.
