what state/or states do you think are least welcoming when it comes to new people moving in. states that are very close minded when it comes to accepting new people and new ideas.

Not true, that's an outdated cliche that faded in the late 90's. I lived in Seattle for 5 years and moved there in the early 2000's from the Northeast and I never got treated like an outsider, nor did I hear very much scoul about California. I got along pretty well with natives and transplants alike. The Pacific NW is not for everyone and the "Seattle Freeze" is a common cliche that rings some truths to it. However many of the people that move there seem to blend in fairly well and are cut from the same cloth as if they were from there in the first place. The West seems to be the easiest place to relocate as they embrace individuality and have less hang ups over regional grudges (IE: North & South) That's just my observation and experience. There are exceptions of course (mainly rural areas) but it's not so much the rule.

Ive heard the new england, deep south, montana and wyoming to be the worst places for transplants. I think the new england and Pacific NW is overated but ive seen a lot of posters on city data from deep south and the interior west often complain about outsiders forcing their views. Dont believe me, go to the mississippi, alabama, and montana forums. Outsider hate is high in those regions
