I've been to Hong Kong before, am absolutely in love with that place. It's probably my aspiration to live there after Grad school!

I've been to Shanghai before but never Beijing. And never been to Tokyo before but not really interested in it either. Something about Tokyo just really doesn't jive with me, I've never found it appealing, and never wanted to go there. I am very interested in Seoul, South Korea though.

I pick Hong Kong from here, the place is absolutely massive and its so gorgeous. Tokyo from what I have seen cannot compare to the beauty of Hong Kong. And also, Hong Kong is a city on the rise (as is Beijing) both by power and by economical influence. Tokyo is actually showing signs of declining and presently all of Japan is in stagnation. Japan is expected to lose half of its population by middle of the century by official projections of a present aged population.

The only few cities in the world that I am extremely envious of and admit to open jealously are Hong Kong, Seoul, Melbourne, Venice & A few other cities. I admit, those places make me so jealous because I don't live there.

Hong Kong is a city that has a more cosmopolitan appeal, and it makes sense, until 1999 it was under British control and after that it became its own country, albeit a dependent country under People's Republic of China's wing.

In short, I love Hong Kong!

I agree. I also believe it has the most to offer.

- Great job prospects
- Reasonable in living costs (Tokyo is mad overpriced)
- More cosmopolitan, more people from different places, thank the British for holding on to it for so long
- More dramatic scenery, by gosh its just absolutely beautiful waterfront, amazingly lush green scenery, and perfectly situated on the coast
- And amazing food options
- Democratic system of government (it's a country after all, although dependent country but it has its own government)
- The people are very nice, helpful, and extremely friendly to new comers. And its a very user friendly place
- Stunning architecture, by pictures, people can say "it looks generic like all buildings are the same" on street level for those who have been, its just phenomenal to say the least

It's a very big city, but in a more tidy fashion compared to the monster that is Tokyo. It's big enough for people to love the big city atmosphere, but small enough for people to get space compared to Tokyo.
