I know Severance Hall in Cleveland is amazing, but I have nothing to compare it to. What are the other great concert halls in this country?

What do you mean by "nice" and "classy?" It is said that in terms of acoustical quality the top three concert halls in the world are two in Europe (I forget where) and Symphony Hall in Boston. I've been to Boston's Symphony Hall, and the acoustics truly are amazing. As for "nice" or "classy" in appearance, it looks fine, but I don't know that its appearance stands above that of any other major concert hall.

Severance Hall went through extensive renovations in the '90s to make it better acoustically. I'm sure it can compete on the same level as any symphony hall in the world. It is home to the world famous Cleveland Orchestra after all

The Wortham Theater is probably the best concert hall in Houston. I have no idea how it ranks against the others in the country. Another good one is Jones Hall.

Most people in this forum would be surprised to find out that one of the country's most beautiful, most acoustically sound, and most luxurious symphony halls is in Nashville.

Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Nashville

I love Nashville's. Severance is beautiful, too, but I haven't seen it in person. Nashville's is pretty new, but I like its very NEO-classical design. It complements other buildings nearby beautifully. I am so mad that we could have had a similar building in Jacksonville designed by Canon Architects, but I won't even post pictures of what we got instead (and for $200 million overbudget). ULI certainly approves of Nashville's . I actually like Nashville's more than Philly's old hall.

I know that Benaroya Hall in Seattle is up there on the rankings for acoustics. It's simple in terms of style, but nice nonetheless.

I also can't believe no one has mentioned Carnegie Hall. That is by and large the most famous, beautiful, and best concert hall in the nation. Top 10 in the world, arguably. There is really no arguing the former though.

The striking architecture and excellent acoustics of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles have raised the hall to being ranked among the top 10 concert halls in the world and the youngest respected hall. It has become an icon and improved the music scene in L.A.
