I wonder which city one has the most number of row houses? The two cities are very urban and appear to have several square miles of dense row houses every where you look.

St. Louis has more detached homes that appear to be row houses at a glance. Boston has more true row house today. 50 years ago I would probably say St. Louis, but most of the true rowhouse neighborhoods in St. Louis fell to the wrecking ball during urban renewal. Although areas like Soulard, Hyde Park, Lafayette Square, and ONSL have a lot of them.

I didn't know that...St Louis must have lost a lot of urban development then which scales it smaller than Boston?

Boston.
St Louis has some really nice row homes too, though I think most of them are like Chicago. Meaning they're very close, but detached.

Boston is much denser in comparison, and the abundant amounts of row homes are a big reason why.
