I am trying to decide on moving to either Dallas or Charlotte. I currently live in TN and want a bigger, more diverse city with fun things to do. A big factor is also if there is a homeopathic/nauturopathic climate available. I know that Dallas or surrounding areas of do. I also want a husband. Any help?

Well, my wife is fed up with hers, but he's pretty sorry and not worth much. What do you have to trade?

Oh yeah, since neither Charlotte nor Dallas happen to be located in SC, there are probably better places to ask this question.

Can't beat Charlotte's location its close to mountains, beaches, ATL,. Dallas would defiantly be bigger. But, Charlotte is a Big Town and is a Major player in so many ways. A lot more conventions and major events like the ACC Championship, DNC,NRA, seem to want be in Charlotte because its so central. I think the recent Nascar Hall of Fame adds a lot to uptown. Its just so cool. Charlotte can give you a big feel like the first time I drove up the Brookshire Freeway all the tall skyscrapers pop out of know where and hit you in the face and your like wow this place is cool.

+1 here. Also, Charlotte is a really beautiful city, esp in the Dilworth and Myers Park area. HUGE, old trees and lush, mature landscaping. While Dallas has some of that, it tends to feel a little more desolate (being on the prairie like it is) overall. You'll never miss the Galleria while shopping in the South Park area! You can have Atlanta - the gleam has been off that Emerald City for me for a long time. Charlotte is where ATL was 25 years ago, which is just about perfect.

I know Dallas has a lot to offer in so many way. But, keep in mind Dallas is pretty much in the heart of Tornado Alley. You should have a lot more severe weather. Charlotte is protected by the App. mountains so it always slows down the major storms that destroy power lines, homes in Dallas, OKC etc.

Dallas has only had one tornado of any consequence in its 170-year history. An F-3 in April. 1957. 10 people were killed.

Uhh, Dallas (6.4 million) is more than three times the size of Charlotte (1.8 million), why on earth would you compare the two if you're looking for a big city. Charlotte is similar to Nashville, why not Nashville?
