Having lived in Boston for several years, I'd say Boston overall is the better city. Its got a stronger economy, and a lot brighter future, overall. Also, you're close to NYC, the mountains of VT, and the coast of ME.

That being said, Boston is best enjoyed if you are wealthy, otherwise, the cost of real estate will make you cry. Detroit has a lot of potential for revitalization, and much cheaper housing.

And why are you using other peoples' photos? Copyright... helooooo. And if that 1st photo was indeed "shot 7/2007", then Detroit has crappier weather than I thought! Whats with the winter coats?
hey, I asked the guy if i could use the photos, and he said yes. umm. let me think no copyright heloooo........and Detroit and Boston is a much bigger contest than chicago and seattle. and 07-17 is July 17th. I don't know where you get this weather stuff, and if your from chicago you should understand crappy weather.

Detroit has Ford Field and Comerica Park which are outstanding venues. GM headquarters, Greektown... the rest goes to Boston.

Nice and all, but Boston lays claim to Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park. ALSO 2 outstanding venues, particularly Fenway.

I've been reading, and like Steve-o, I'm like "so what?" Every city has things to brag about and claims to fame. "The largest theater outside..." probably doesn't mean anything to most people. If I were into theater maybe it would, but probably still not enough to tilt favor away from a city like Boston. I'm not saying Detroit's a bad place, but I think you shouldn't be too surprised that the poll is going the way it is.
