How can you even compare the two?

Definetly Boston, I mean it isn't even a competition!

I picked Detroit, I like both cities alot, almost equally, both have great history and culture but I chose Detroit because most posters would say things like "come on it isn't even a competition"

B-O-S-T-O-N and no that doesn't spell Detroit Boston is in MUCH better shape economically than Detroit and its climate IMO is much more tolerable than Detroit's year-round. Plus Detroit has a lot more of a crime problem than Boston.

Boston hands down. Not even a contest.

Don't get me wrong, Detroit has a blue collar Midwest vibe to it that some may like. But Boston is simply one of America's best cities. It is such a great town. The people can be a little rough around the edges sometimes but once you become friends with people, they are your buds for life. People are not flaky up here. Also, the city life in Boston is just amazing. Great neighborhoods, great restaurants and bars, great history, great public transport, etc. Detroit, like a lot of American cities I am sad to say, is a shell where everyone lives outside the city. People drive everywhere there. They are trying to rejuvenate the city of Detroit, but Boston largely doesn't need rejuvenating! The neighborhoods are still vibrant, still full of people (no burned out buildings) and it's booming.

Detroit may be cheaper, but there is a reason.
