Jackson is just south of Yellowstone National Park, has several art museums and several ski resorts. So it is a major tourist area. But what really makes this place special is the excellent views of the Teton Mountains (or Grand Tetons) in Grand Teton National Park not far to the west. These are some of the most beautiful mountains in the United States.

An excellent spot for people who like the scenery, the outdoors, skiing, hiking, wildlife and even a little bit of culture.

Austin is certainly overhyped but it's a nice town. Notice I said "town" - it does not have all the amenities and opportunities of a Dallas or Houston.
