^^ haha one poster dislikes ATL because he heard it was like his hometown of Miami on BET complains and the ATL bashers who have never been to either get crunk. I still like how most the Florida poster don't even think Miami wins.

Ok, a couple other things popped into my head...

You based a major life decision on what celebrities think? Why would you do that?

1. Mexicans live in those places where you mentioned....and Gwinnett, and Dekalb and East Point and Lindbergh, and Cobb, and several places in high numbers. They are hardly confined to Buford and Chamblee, though that is the epicenter of the Mexican community.
2. There are no other races here? I guess you missed the butt load of Koreans, Viets and Indians that are here....among a lot of other ethnicities.

While I can not refute your personal experience, and obviously you will find way more Cubans in Miami, Atlanta does have a sizeable community of Cubans compared to other cities:
From my own personal experience, my last two neighbors directly across from me in the last two buildings I've lived in were Cuban and currently there are three cubans in my building. This is all coincidence though that just popped into my head.

What does me being a latino have anything to do with anything? What exactly does ATL do that it's so good at? My statement about the blacks and the apartment was me bringing up positive things about my experience in Atlanta. I clearly expressed the things i dislike about Atlanta.
Yeah, because i'm dumb and expected beaches here exactly! I wasn't expecting to find Miami in ATL but I was expecting a little more livelyhood considering all you hear about it. Nothing about this place impresses me. point blank. In miami I walk out my front door and there's something going on.
sorry my "paragraph" bothered you. Just because you don't agree with MY opinion doesn't mean you need to attack my writing skills. poor or not. lets stick to the topic.
There may be clubs but it's nothing like in Miami. Clubs are jumping more in Miami on a Monday night than they are here on a Saturday night. gimme a break. Festivals? really you mean the gay pride festival or the black gay pride festival? do you mean the small greek festival? there's a festival in miami every other weekend. i don't want to have to work to find what's going on in a city. I guess Miami has spoiled me.
I go to work. Ask my co-workers in an office of 17 people. all age ranges...what did you do this weekend? nothing, stayed home watched tv. went to church. grabbed dinner. went to walmart. went to the movies. really? how EXCITING!
i'm not saying I was expecting Atlanta to be like Miami but I was expecting it to be a little more alive. Maybe when you're from Miami nothing impresses you anymore. I'm just saying i've had the opportunity to live in both places and i choose Miami. If you've lived in Atlanta all your life and don't know the difference then of course this place is amazing. There has to be a reason as to why everytime people mention Miami they think of a great night life and an overall fun town. What's that opinion based on? Ask some college kids where they rather spend their spring break. i sure as hell know for a fact they will not say atlanta if they had to choose between the two places.
Admit your losses. What may seem fun and interesting to you in Atlanta is NOTHING compared to Miami.
I stopped reading his post when he put he wanted to move there because celebrities were moving there.
I knew everything after that statement would be BS.
I didn't mean it like that. I didn't do as much research as I wanted before I moved here. I spent about 2 months researching as much as i could online. I came 3 days and found it to be ok enough to give it a try. I figured it's not too far from home if I ever wanna go visit. I found an apartment at a low price. I read there were better opportunities job wise and i decided to give it a try. There's only so much you can do without actually being in the place. visiting and researching is one thing. actually moving and experiencing what actual life as a resident is is a completely different story. I didn't move here based on celebrities and their opinions but I figured since it was on the map and always talked about it may be a city similar to the one i grew up in and it wouldn't be too much of an adjustment period.

I guess if bumping club life is main concern Miami wins. There is bit more to living in a city though. I have family in South Florida and it is not like you make it and half of them left the area for a reason. Please tell us where you lived in Atlanta that made you think there was no "activity".

Miami has a way better club life than Atlanta. I guess that you have never been South Beach or Miami in general, for if you have you would not have said such things.

I'll grant you that Miami has a much better club scene than Atlanta (duh, that's kind of the whole point of Miami), but you specifically said that Atlanta has no clubs. That's all I questioned.

1. You know good and well there are more festivals than Gay pride.
2. Did you ever stop to consider why most fesitivals here are between April and October? Who in the world wants to be walking around a festival for a few hours when it's 30 something degrees outside or colder and raining or snowing? I know I wouldn't and I'm used to cold weather.

How can I possibly refute what you say given I don't know those people. Maybe you work with a bunch of lames. Maybe you work with a bunch of married people or people with kids (both types usually don't club).

First off it's sounds like you are young since you are basing a city's worth on how much partying you can do (at least I hope you are young since it would be sad if you were old), which is fine. And no doubt Miami is better for that than pretty much every other city in the country. But there is more to life than being a club rat and partying all the time. However, if that is the most important thing in your life then by all means Miami would be the best place for you.

Did you just agree (I just said it was better) with me or is you hate for Atlanta blinding you from what I typed? I've been to Miami and south beach more the most people on this forum since I have kin there.
