ny is clearly the mecca of graffiti, period, regardless of philly starting it.

and graffiti clearly is a part of ny's identity. PERIOD.

philly started it but we popularized it worldwide which is why ny is considered the mecca. OUR artists are far more recognized and associated with the sub culture than ANY philly artist. i give credit where its due and know my history but yeah, we came up and popularized most of the styles that still go on today, we have world famous artists that are pioneers of the culture and we are associated with graffiti more so than any city on the planet.

oh, and anyone that is saying that manhattan doesn't have graffiti or that is suggesting that manhattan doesn't have graffiti and/or a lot of graffiti just hasn't been to manhattan at all.

couldn't have. that or you fell asleep on the train and woke back up in your borough/the airport.
