Yes, I do enjoy the views and see them often usually by bicycle.
Those are tract housing but not garbage. They are expensive ($600,00+) and large homes.

That photo was taken in the northwest part of the San Fernando valley. It is not a boring place. There are many ways to keep busy. For instance, several weekly car shows, which meet all year- even during the winter. The valley has about 1.6 million people and it would take weeks to visit all the major attractions, historic places and general points of interest. Living near mountains=scenery (or more scenery).

Besides I love living in the green lush suburbs of the east over places like that.

There are lush green forests over here.

Sorry, but if I want to live in a nice small town with spectacular views of mountains...there is colorado for that. Otherwise its living in green east coast suburbs
|
I enjoy mountain views and yet can go for a bike ride at sunset in winter with 70 degree temperatures. The best of both worlds!

I personally hate the view of brown mountains. I'd honestly rather look at buildings in Manhattan.
I grew up with a view similar to yours and I needed a change of scenery. Like badly.

Both are awesome. I prefer the West Coast but happily live in NJ without any regrets. However after this last Sunday when temps in the Bay Area soared to 81 degrees, I gotta say, The West really scored some points....it was perfect.

When I want to look at buildings, I prefer mansions. Mansions on a lot of land...

So not to diminish the beauty of the West at all, but are you really suggesting that similar aspect do not exist in the East? And on mansions and estates with land, really - the largest collection of large mansion in country exists along the Eastern Seaboard. Areas of MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA have tremendous collections of mansions and wealth and expansive mansions and estates
Just a quick search of examples
