My parents own a home on Fisher Island in Florida (I'm here right now) and most of these exotic cars you see are owned by people who live in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and sometimes Illinois. These glamorous places you see in Florida are colonized by NY Tri-State residents and their tremendous wealth who retreat there during the winter.

Everyone you meet at the Fisher Island Club is from NY/NJ/CT, Europe, Latin America, and if you're in Tri-State you'll see lots of exotic cars with Florida Plates because they ship them up to NY/NJ/CT when the weather gets warmer.

My dad has a Ferrari, and its in Florida from November-March. From experience, driving an exotic car in snow isn't fun at all.

Pretty much the same thing in Newport. Lot's of wealthy Angelinos and snowbirds from around the globe colonize the yact clubs. The lots are chock full of Ferraris, Lambos, ect. stepping off to party on their multi million dollar plaeasure crafts. I have spent quite a few winters living down there.
Lot's of Nyers as well there and of course a bastion for the uber wealthy Aspen crowd. Pretty much the West Coast's premier destination for people with unlimited trust funds. I have noticed the young jet set crowd in that town earned their cash the old fashion way, they inherited it.LOL

A family friend of ours from who lives up in Woodside, CA has a weekend home in Newport Beach and I've been and it's true...every other car there is high end. It seemed resort like (like La Jolla), it's definitely like the Fisher Island or Palm Beach for the West Coast's elite.
