i'm scotch-irish, english, and irish and i'm protestant by the way. the irish and british are "related." what happened 150 years ago is something that was pointless ignorant religious bickering between their own flesh and blood.

Uh... San Francisco by itself has a significantly higher economic input than DC.

And lol please. DC vs. SF is about an equal comparison with the edge going slightly to DC... don't get ahead of yourself.

San Francisco doesn't have a higher economic output (GDP) than Washington DC.

I can't remember the source I read this on but I just wiki'd it and according to wikipedia you're right. I'll take your word for it.

However, to say DC city > the bay area imo is ridiculous, politics notwithstanding.

I've never been too much of a fan of San Francisco itself and it has nothing to do with politics for me. I just hate the city for other reasons, its the only city I hate too even though I don't bash cities or anything I do have my dislike for it. I wont ever bash it but yeah, its just the worst place I've ever been too, I do respect it enough to give it the credit it deserves in what it's good at. But that's about it.

However with that said though, I do like San Jose quite a good deal and I think Oakland is a pretty sweet place too but I haven't gotten to know it better yet. I also enjoy the Bay Area smaller cities of Palo Alto, Stanford, Mountain View, Los Altos too those are pretty damn cool places.

But I prefer the DMV more myself, Washington DC is a great place and DMV just suits my needs and what I like more so, one of my favorite places in the country and also where I am a resident now in Northern Virginia.

Interesting, despite being so educated, and having a great economy, D.C has a poverty rate of 19%. Only Mississippi is higher.

*golf clap*

Good job, D.C! Is that what being the *most educated* can get you?

That's actually incorrect.

Median Household Income, 2005-2009
Huntington, NY $106,221
San Jose City, California $78,660

Median Family Income, 2005-2009
Huntington, NY $126,638
San Jose City, California $87,556

Huntington is a city. Huntington will overtake Rochester, NY this year and is about the same size as Scottsdale, AZ or Jersey City, NJ. And it really doesn't matter if San Jose is 3-4X larger than Huntington. New York City is 3X larger than Chicago and they're very often compared. New York City is 4X larger than Paris, and they're compared. New York City is 8-9X larger than San Francisco and many delusional San Franciscans think they're comparable. Boston is compared to New York. New York is compared to DC. Seattle is compared to Los Angeles.

And San Jose, more diverse than any NE city? San Jose is more diverse than New York City now? Hopefully you mean't above average median income/diversity combo, not diversity alone. If so, then yes, San Jose probably wins that battle.

Some actually prefer DC's four seasons. Shocker, right?

San Jose takes innovation to a plateau they are trying to copy.
Yes, but statistically nearly everyone who moves to either city has no chance in hell of becoming a software mogul. That's all irrelevant.

The average person is much better off in Washington anyway due to Washington's lower cost of living.
