Rock Hill is definitely going to be interesting. I'm also curious about Lancaster county. The Upstate, Columbia, and Charleston areas all look to be fascinating as well. But Rock Hill, from what I hear, has the potential to break 80k from what I hear.

The numbers for Nashville and the MSA are about 10-15k lower than the estimates. Memphis looks to be a few thousand higher...but interestingly the city of Memphis was way low on the estimates (the county was almost spot on).

In fact, Knoxville and Chattanooga were also lower than the estimates (although Chatt was the closest).

It was actually a lot of the suburban and rural counties that exceeded their expectations.

Every state West of the Mississippi River has been accounted for now. That just leaves (After today is over) the Northeast Corridor States (WV, NY, MA, NH, & RI) & South Carolina (the oddball out).

Places that will remain after today is over (Release of GA, KY, & FL today):
- Boston MSA & CSA (MA, RI, & NH)
- Washington DC/Baltimore CSA (WV, VA, MD, & DC)
- Washington DC MSA (WV, VA, MD, & DC)
- Buffalo MSA & CSA (NY)
- Charlotte MSA & CSA (SC & NC)
- Rochester MSA & CSA (NY)
- New York (NY, CT, PA, & NJ)
- Detroit MSA & CSA (MI)

* Bold (highlighted above in dark) all the states that still need to be released from next week onward. We're just about finished with the US Census results now. I can only hope they release RI, NH, & MA in the same day, so that way I can get Boston CSA done and over with. Maine is the only state I am not too interested in from what's left to be honest. No major cities or MSA & CSA's there.

South Dakota +117.9% to 10,600

Kansas +8.9% to 168,400
Wisconsin +18% to 358,500

States known to have larger black populations:
Illinois -.06% to 1,860,000
Michigan *not released, but almost sure to be a decent decrease in population
Ohio +8.2% to 1,407,500
Indiana +16% to 1,037,500

I would think Illinois would have to be about the only state to see a decrease in its black population while having an increase in the white population.
I guess it doesn't really count then...

316 870 6.0% black
250 258 4.7% hispanic
243 897 4.6% asian

I guess I jumped the gun a bit yesterday.....this is "race alone or in combination". But like some have mentioned, these populations are "too small" and they take residence in Atlanta to hide from the winter anyways, so it's really closer to 0,0,0.

That's the county total. The actual total for the city w/o the 6 "other" incorporated cities in the county is 601,222. Why the census lists "Nashville's population" as the entire county is beyond me...they did it last census, too.

Dude....if you're on Spring Break, put the computer away, seriously. Just don't worry about any of this....it'll be here when you get back. Enjoy yourself.

With the corrected population, Nashville will move to between Denver and Washington D.C.

However, an interesting (but largely insignificant) development for Nashville is that one of the small independent cities in the county has voted to dissolve their charter, thus becoming part of the city of Nashville.

With Lakewoood (population 2,302) added to Nashville (601,222), you will get a new population of 603,524, placing it just ahead of D.C.

Census 2010 News | Oficina del Censo le proporciona a Georgia los totales de población en el Censo del 2010, incluyendo los primeros datos de raza y origen hispano para la redistribución de distritos electorales

I began reading that in Espanol. Wow, lots of cities got screwed like no other this census.

Wowsers! Atlanta was projected to grow by 125,000 since 2000....and it ended up growing by less than 4,000. That has to be the largest messup % wise.

I've got to wonder about NYC and Boston. I believe Arizona, Georgia and New York were the states that were overstated in the 2009 estimates by over 200,000 compared to the actual census. Phoenix and Atlanta have already come in heavily under the estimates. Curious if NYC will follow suit. I'm assuming it will be under the estimates, just by how much...
