Ok, I found some time to break down the numbers of all of Metro Atlanta after FINALLY figuring out how to pull up all the metro data and export it to Excel all at once on FactFinder2. Here are the "official" totals for 2010:
White - 2,895,372
Black - 1,740,955
Latino - 602,485
Asian - 257,305
Multi-racial (aka Two or more races) - 94,543
"Other" - 14,161
Native American - 11,431
Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander - 2179
Total Population - 5,618,431
By percentages
White - 51.53%
Black - 30.98%
Latino - 10.72%
Asian - 4.57%
Multi-racial - 1.68%
"Other" - 0.25%
Native American - 0.20%
Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander - 0.03%
As you might have noticed also, barring some sort of disaster, this will be the last Census where Metro Atlanta will officially be "Majority White" and has likely ceased being so and transitioned to "Majority Minority" since last April due to growth and undercounts in the minority and immigrant communities during enumeration. The core counties of Fulton, Dekalb, Gwinnett, and Clayton counties are already "Majority Minority" as of this Census. None were in 1980.
Thanks for doing this.
Right now, we have a total of 982,104 people who are neither white nor black alone (although this group includes biracial white/black folks). One million is obviously an important benchmark, and we've probably reached it by now. We have 859,790 Hispanics and Asians combined.
Right now, 17.46% of Atlantans are neither white nor black. 15.29% are either Asian or Hispanic.
These numbers are better than I thought they were, to be honest. It seems like we lagged estimates in raw population numbers, but met/exceeded them in terms of Asians and Hispanics.

Man, the 2010 Census is full of oddities. The 2009 Census ACS Estimates for the metro as a whole overcounted Whites by a significant margin (almost 500,000) and under counted Latinos and Asians while Blacks were spot on. This is what they thought last year:
White - 3,386,390
Black - 1,684,798
Latino - 542,217
Asian - 242,200
Meanwhile, there seems to have been a significant undercount in the city proper and Dekalb county.
Strange days indeed in Georgia, but also amazing and almost unimaginable change in such a short time. When I was in elementary school I remember when I was the only mixed kid (and half black and half asian no less) in class and how the first time there was a Latino kid in any of my classes was the 3rd grade.

So by the numbers:
In 2000, Georgia as a whole had 171,513 Asian residents and 134,973 of them lived in Metro Atlanta.
In 2010, Georgia as a whole has 314,467 Asian residents and 257,305 of them (81%) live in Metro Atlanta. With this result, that means Metro Atlanta received 85.57% of the growth.

Yeah, I'm only 25, and when I was in elementary school it was easily 95% white. Now, the tracts feeding into the school are roughly 25% minority, made up of roughly an even split of blacks, Hispanics, and Asians. And this is in one of the city's prime, established suburbs.
Atlanta is becoming a terrible place for racists to live.

Looks like your hunch was right.
What did you do? I tried to get Houston and Dallas and I gave up after 45 minutes. My head is still hurting. I wonder what idiot revised the new fact finder.
