I love Baltimore, but it wish it were more like St Louis!

Most people know that Baltimore and St Louis are extremely similar metro areas. Similar in size, built environment, density, demographics. There is even a "city" and a "county" that make up the bulk of each metro area and most of the suburbs are on one side of both cities. Both have light rail, but lackluster bus systems and both have solid destination touristy downtowns and water front developments.

But Baltimore needs more to do for a city its size. It doesn't have to be in the shadow of DC.

Baltimore needs the St Louis Zoo (so does DC, but Baltimore needs it worse). Baltimore keeps their aquarium, StL could use one.

Baltimore needs a monument. Put a space needle in Federal Park! Ok, don't do that, but build something across the harbor to view the city from!

I think Baltimore needs a Brewery, a big one that you can tour, sort of like St Louis!

The Maryland Science Center should be swapped out with the St Louis Science Center.

Baltimore needs a modern arena and an NHL team to put inside it.

Baltimore and StL should swap six flags parks IMO!

Baltimore needs a destination big time urban park. Bring over Forest Park please and replace Druid!

Baltimore needs some of the afordable housing in StL. I mean, I can get a downtown condo or a 2500 sq foot home in an nice inner suburban area for 1/4 of what it cost in Baltmore and I don't make 4 times as much!

Baltimore needs nicer suburbs, I make fun of West County (StL), but they are nice suburbs and Clayton? No such places in Baltimore.

Baltimore needs real casinos with hotels and entertainment complexes. What is with putting a casino at a mall? Silly.

Baltimore does not need East St Louis...

I'm just having fun, I really like Baltimore, but I do wish Baltimore had a little bit more to do than it does.

Baltimore has D.C. 40 miles away which puts it way ahead of St. Louis. St. Louis doesn't even have 1/2 of what D.C. offers so I think that puts Baltimore way over St. Louis.

St. Louis is a nice city but it's a small city with nothing around it for hours. I don't think you can compare it to Baltimore because anything Baltimore is lacking is made up for by Washington D.C. right down the road. Baltimore having D.C. right down the road really puts it on par with any city in the U.S. Access to the best restaurants, museums, art, concerts, night life, jobs, transit etc. I think many people forget the wild card here when talking about Baltimore. It's 30 minutes away from D.C.

Baltimore wins for the region. You have DC, the Bay and Philly and Ocean City are close by.

But I want more reasons to just hang out in Baltimore. DC is DC. Baltimore is Baltimore. 30 miles or 300 miles, they are individual cities and Baltimore is plenty large enough to improve its entertainment options.

Why do places like Tulsa, Omaha, Des Moines and Wichita have nicer arenas than Baltimore. Nicer zoos etc.

Come on Baltimore, get with it
