Two very different cities: Vancouver, British Columbia (not the one in Washington) vs. Indianapolis. The Pacific Northwest vs. the Lower Midwest. Canada vs. USA. Which one do you prefer based on:

Skyline
Weather
Lifestyle
Jobs
Diversity
Cost of living
Entertainment
Scenery
Sports
Higher education (colleges and universities)
Surrounding area

Here are some pictures to help you out:

First, Vancouver

Indianapolis

I don't think my first post did Indianapolis justice. Vancouver is breathtaking, but Indy has understated beauty:

Vancouver gets all of this. It is one of the reasons it is a Global City.

Indianapolis is more populous than Vancouver, by about 300,000 people.

Higher education (colleges and universities): I don't care

Surrounding area: Whatever

Love Indy, and voted for it, since its in USA which is better than Canada but if I had to pick one to live in it would be Vancouver. The scenery, setting, and proximity to the part of the world that interests me infinitely more are a plus. But Indy is real cool.

I expected Vancouver to win, but I didn't expect it to be this lopsided. The two are really comparable cities -- same size metro areas, similar name recognition.

Are you serious? Indianiapolis is a good city, but really when compared to Vancouver it just can't compare. If you are looking for a cheap family oriented city that is laid back, then Indy is the way to go. Anything else, it's all Vancouver.
