LMFAO how sad does that made your city look? YOU WATCHED US. YOU saw what we were wearing, regardless what you thought about it, you still saw us. Meanwhile in NYC we're too busy to even see Washington DC. LOL Go crawl under another rock and keep your "Go-go". No one wants to REPLICATE it and if they did then you guys can claim something for a change. But it's been years since it was "out" so i guess no one wants to. Sucks kid. =/

LOL he wants to be a HIP-HOP artist. "For best Go-Go album. . ." Yeah I can't see that, GOGO is a SUB-GENRE. This is too funny.

The fact of the matter is NY started Hip-Hop and people made it their own. THAT's a movement. ALL genres are intertwined with each other. But no one cares about your little hometown funk/jazz,dc style "music".

It's like a live remix of a jazz song. Go sit down-----> in the corner alone.

See NYC? LOL....I didn't visit NYC till I was 20. We talked about NYC transplants that moved to DC. We pretty much shunned them in school. We said they were bammas because they didn't dress, talk, or act like us. Simple as that. Do I feel this way now? No...there are more important things in life. But that is the normal experience of NYC people when they moved to DC with their parents. You might want to ask some NYC people who have lived in DC what it was like fitting in as a teenager or child. They probably had a horrible experience. That is what every DC poster on here is talking about when we say something about NYC people. This is what goes on in school. Take it for what it is.

Wale's first songs that put him on the map back in 2004-2005 successfully being the first person to ever make it out of DC by conquering his city. WIthout GoGo...rapping in DC will FAIL and this has been proven for 40 years:

NY dudes are loud off brands. You bammas following LA culture with all the gang banging which is a disgrace. Even JAY-Z said that Biggie would be hurt to see NY gangbang and following an LA thing. Point blank when Snoop and the Dawg Pound came through to make a video dissin NY back in the day. Do you really think Snoop could come to DC and make a video dissin DC? He would be taking a dirt nap.

Still talking about gogo good god. You guys need to realize there's an entire world outside of black DC. Also, the fact that you brag about shunning people and excluding them really shows you for what a myopic outlook you guys have.

(BTW, and for the last time, nobody in Philly "hops on" NYC. Stop bringing up Philadelphia in a thread that has nothing to do with it. You guys always try to compare with NYC and bring it up (at least on C-D), so this is your chance to actually do it - move beyond gogo, its been 10 pages now).

Even though i know the power and influence NY has on cities like Philly and its strangle like hold on Jersey culture, I do respect all the city has given in terms of music and overall culture. However, if we are talking in terms of black culture, DC doesn't conform to NYC. In fact, like someone said earlier, most AA's in DC BELIEVE AND FEEL that they are better off than blacks in other places. They look at DC as a mecca because no other place in the county has seen blacks proper in areas outside of music and entertainment like in DC.

Clearly they wouldn't dress the same. Two different cities & regions.
That's like someone from DC coming to live in NY.

People would call the southern. Is that right? Nope, but it happens.

You're missing the point, if they wanted to be known for Go-Go they wouldn't want a major deal. And lol Rapping = Hip-Hop. Another NY thing.

People like you that wear purple Timbs and think they are fashionable. Or it could be someone that wears gold teeth like most NYers use to do back in the day. Or it could be the dude with the three slashes in his eyebrows or the dude with the blonde gumby. Gotta love NY!

Have you really been to NYC?

Sounds like you're describing the "bammas" in DC.
