But Boston doesn't have the Cuban women, Miami's beaches, or the weather.

In terms of "party cities", I'd definitely vote Miami and Vegas. Cities like NY offer a party scene that is as good or maybe even better, but I feel like Miami and Vegas focus more on creating a party atmosphere.

Yea but Boston has tons of Brasilians, which are better though Miami has a lot of Brasilians too. But yea, we definitely don't have the beaches or weather that Miami offers.
Anyway, Boston's nightlife isn't anywhere near Miami's. I would argue in terms of offerings, Boston has a lot. Great bars, decent clubs, etc...but the city doesn't cater itself to nightlife. Bars close at 2, and the subway is closed at 1...that means if you're not driving drunk, you are at the mercy of cab drivers, who happen to be the biggest d1cks in the world.
This subject is particularly fresh in my mind due to this past Saturday night. I usually stick around my neighborhood (Allston Brighton) because it has a lot of great bars, but I knew some people who were visiting from Queens, so I went with my girlfriend to meet up with a bunch of them downtown. We went to a great place called Revolution Rock Bar, which is a cool place with dancing and expensive drinks (2 shots, 2 mixers $40 without tip). It was a lot of fun but when it came time to leave, my girl and I had to rush out onto Atlantic Ave to fight for a cab...and that's when the trouble began:
There are tons of cabs in Boston, but not nearly enough to support the amount of people who go downtown to party on any given Friday or Saturday night. If you're lucky enough to have a cab stop for you, they'll lock their doors and ask where you're going (in Boston & NYC if you get into a cab, they can't refuse to take you somewhere--you could say California and they have to take you). If you say somewhere they don't like, they just drive away. As a result, there are tons of unlicensed cabs rolling up in the form of Towncars, Expeditions, etc...which is a risk in itself.
Due to the fierce competition for a cab, people will run into the middle of the street to stop cabs. Cabs often come within feet of hitting drunk people trying to get a ride. Fist fights are pretty common since everyone needs a cab, and everyone thinks they (obviously) need to get a cab before anyone else. I saw some drunk dude almost get his face smashed in by an unlicensed cab after he kicked the guys car for not giving him a ride somewhere for like $2.
The end result? My girlfriend and I waited an hour and a half to get a cab. It's the single biggest downfall of Boston's nightlife. Obviously it would be better for things to be open later, but Boston needs to upgrade its transit offerings before they can consider doing something like that.

If I could party anywhere in the country, based on what YOUR idea of partying may be, I'd choose:
New York City
Los Angeles
Miami
If I could choose anywhere in the country to "party" my way (more laid back, settled, able to talk to one-another without yelling), it'd be:
Chicago
Boston
Milwaukee
...or the like
I personally like pubs and social gatherings. If I wanted to see the loudest, craziest, best ratio bar in the country, the first 3 cities come to mind.

I love Boston, but it is most definitely not a party city. In general, the nightlife in Boston has struck me as really tame every time I've been there.
My choices would be: NYC, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Miami.
Honorable mention: LA
Chicago and San Francisco both have good nightlife but I would not call them party cities.

How is Miami's overrated but not NYC/LV/LA/NOLA not? Argue away.

Maybe because many cities have popular, large beaches, and isn't that Miami's main source of tourism? NYC stands alone, no one has a strip like Vegas, and no one parties like NOLA.

New Orleans IS nightlife. Its whole reputation is that of a big city that loves to party. You can be walking around at 3 am and people are still partying hard as if it was mid-day. Basically it never stops in the French Quarter.

Using your logic:
Atlantic City has casinos also.
LA is a large city like NYC and has a diverse party scene also
And no one parties like NO? Really? Look at the various locations of Mardi Gras: Mardi Gras - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And isn't Mardi Gras seen as the main source of NO's party scene? When people think of NO, they only think Mardi Gras(which isn't a bad thing, IMHO and in most people's Honest Opinion because Mardi Gras and NO is awesome!!).
You gotta use something better than just "many other cities having large beaches."

I was there on a Tuesday evening and it was jumping with drunk tourists. Nights and days are one entity in the 'Easy.
