How can you not include the Bay Area - 2Pac, Too Short, E-40, Mac Dre, Del the Funkee Homosapien, Hieroglyphics, Keak the Sneak, Luniz, Digital Underground, Mac Mall, MC Hammer, etc. etc.

Sorry, but the Bay has produced way more quality hip-hop than Houston or New Orleans.

Idk why but I've always associated them with LA.

Too tough to call...they all have produced good rappers. But if we want to talk about what % of a cities rappers are with listening too, I'd have to say Chicago.

Twista, Do or Die, Kanye, Common, Consequence, Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest, etc.

I just cant think of too many people from the CHI that I cant listen to. There's plenty from each of the others that I'd rather not bump though.

The Bay is slept on, I follow Bay Rap blogs and sites for underground rappers even now.

I like Messy Marv and Erk The Jerk.

Philly has the most lyrical rappers out these cities hands down. But ATL and LA have the most successful rappers out of the bunch.

Most of my favorites are from New York. Capone n Noreaga, Tragedy Khadafi, Shyne, Nas, Mos Def & Talib Kweli, Biggie, Swave Sevah, Sean Price...

Lots of good ones from Detroit: Royce da 5'9", Eminem, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Danny Brown
Chicago... Lupe & Common, I like Kanye's older stuff.

Honestly, I can't stand most of the crap that comes out of the south. Not a fan of Lil Wayne, Mike Jones, Three 6, Gucci, and so forth.

the problem w/ chicago/philly rappers is that they sound too much like the nyc rappers

la definitely should take this one. its like a combo of country vocals and def beats

atl and new orleans - made money off the dre/snoop sound
