I'll give you cosmopolitan but not lively. People are outside doing stuff YEAR ROUND in SD. Go to both cities in the middle of winter and try to tell me Seattle is more "lively".
very nice pics; a street festival, a parade, and an NFL game. Nothing pictured here can't be found in SD nor is it more lively that what you find in SD at any given time of year. SD is simply a more active and alive city given it's superior climate.
Those are awesome pics pwright1. I can't wait. Seattle will be my home for the time being but I still love SD and plan to take trips there. I'll be working remotely into g seattle so o I don't have to look for a job anymore. Now I just need to decide when and how.

I like both Seattle and San Diego.
There are certain things I like them equally for(Their urban meets nature vibe, having great things about them, having awesome vibes, being in awesome locations with great day/weekend trip possibilities), other things I like Seattle more than San Diego for(More dense overall, slightly more quality urban things of all types, ) and other things I like San Diego more than Seattle(Seattle weather is not nearly as bad as some people say and sometimes I like it but I still like San Diego weather much more, San Diego is in California while Seattle is in Pacific Northwest. I like PCNW but still)
I would say it will be a very difficult decision for you to decide!
It depends on what factors matter to you more than other factors.
