Actually, they're the same places, just multiple photos.
IMHO, WA and OR are right behind CA.
I would agree, the west is really the most diverse geography in the country by a pretty wide margin. Alaska may be up their or even moreso, one state I have never been to though but not sure it would matter, I am not sure you could see the whole state anyway
Some people obviously have no idea of what true geographic diversity means. In which you have different regions with nothing in common with each other all within ranging different climates--in one state, that has even shaped the culture of the people. C'mon. If you think anything in the states of OR, WA, NJ, or NY has the extreme range of deserts to forests then you're just being stubborn.

I think California and Texas are really unmatched in geographical diversity.
I know many people will say that California wins out because its Diversity is going to deliver more of a punch. but i think Texas can make an argument for 1b. as our regions still exibit sub-regions
Texas:
Gulf Coast Region:
Goose Island
Marshlands of the Southeastern Texas cost.
East Texas-
Cypress forests
Piney Woods of East Texas
The Hill Country-
North Texas Plains-
only need one picture, because this region really amounts to different versions of this...may some short oaks...
West Texas-
What most people think of Texas, but the least populated region.

The Monahans Sandhills are awesome. You can find pictures of people riding actual camels in them . Egypt in Texas....whodathunk?
People won't give Texas the credit it deserves, and that actually comes as no surprise to me.

I'm not saying those states don't have differences; just not as extreme as Texas'.
There isn't a state where it's land is diverse as California. Texas and New York battle for second place though. But California wins this one.
Texas WINS 2nd place. I don't see much of a competition for 2nd or 1st place.
