I consider it "More" weed friendly. In Vegas, you can have it delivered to your hotel room. IDK if this can be done in LA.
Back in my stoner days (we're talking 30-plus years ago), I had weed delivered to me at home, at work, at school, and yes... even hotel rooms. And that was in Texas.
^ Uh, lots of problems with this, but for starters: how is Vegas at all "weed friendly?" Unless it's changed a lot in the last few years, the casino/liquor powers-that-be are not in favor of anything that diminishes returns. Seems like one of the least "weed friendly" metros in the country to me.
That was the first thing that jumped out for me too. Not really a smoker myself, but if I was there are 3 or 4 shops within a block radius of where I'm sitting where I could walk in, choose from dozens of different types of MJ, buy it legally, and even pay with a credit card if I want. Hell there are even legal delivery sources and weed "food trucks". I'm thinking Vegas doesn't really have any of that.
I doubt it... LA is light years ahead of Las Vegas in nearly every way except gaming and (IMO) nightlife. LV will always be hotter, colder and probably more dangerous and won't have as much to offer. LV will never have a coastline unless California breaks away :P LV is its own city though with its own claims to fame. But it will never be Los Angeles.

First state to authorize medical hemp. Considering it's also the largest state, I'm not sure how that reality passes anyone's notice. Unless they are really, really...uh...
People that say Vegas is like LA are either: (1) only familiar with the Inland Empire and not the actual city of LA; (2) are from the from East Coast or Midwest; and/or (3) are on meth.

You've never tried meth? Its dope before you feel like your skin is about to crawl out of you
Downtown LA resident. Can confirm: constant odor of weed and dog urine.
Its a little annoying but Manhattan and Paris don't smell that great in the summer either so we're in good company.
As does Hollywood, K-town, Echo Park, Silver Lake, etc. etc. etc.
Even Pasadena has its sections that have those complementary odors.
I do think that when you get out of the more urban parts of LA, it does smell really great - especially areas right up against the hills that have more varying vegetation and flowers.
