i havent been but chi looks like a great city thats more down to earth and manageable than nyc while offering 90% of what nyc has
that said, ill be movin to seattle most likely
people need to stop talkin about corruption in chicago, since we are comparing with nyc, nyc got the biggest crooks and thats a fact, with chief bloomberg in charge, and wall st is here for faux sake, this is the most corrupt place ive been to since i been to russia, and thats real

and u dont get wat u pay for at all anywhere in the nyc metro, jus look at the forums, nj people are always complaining (rightfully) bout high taxes and erything
I live 10 miles from Newark in a beautiful Union County suburb. Newark is surrounded by beautiful towns.

You're both trolls, I think. It's time we end this.

Unfortunately that is the reputation New Jersey got, to be a dump. I never really believed it.

There are parts of northern Jersey which are a "dump" but there's also some beautiful parts as well. You'll find that in a lot of metro areas IMO.

The best parts of North Jersey are in the NW parts. Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties.

But its funny because I never hear how beautiful New Jersey is. I heard great things about almost every other US State but as soon as NJ is brought up its negative. I watch the reality show Real Housewives of NJ ( i know I know, I can't help it ) and they most certainly don't live in a dump. I am not sure why this particular state has such reputation for being...ugly.

Newark is synonymous with all of New Jersey apparently.

A big part of it is because of the people. New Jerseyeans or Jerseyites or whatever don't have a good reputation. It has the reputation of breeding guidos, mobsters, sleazebag conmen, low grade low class gold digging women, and the accent is like a second rate NY accent and sounds atrocious to anyone not from that area. Like nails on the chalkboard. Plus various parts of NJ look like mad max beyond thunderdome even if it is the wooded and nice in a lot of parts.

Plus it's insanely expensive for very little benefit. That's probably why so many people are scrambling to leave now.
