I don't think I've seen anyone mention Kansas City here.

They all get alot more (or just as much) attention as my home town, that's for sure.

If I had to pick out from this list, I'd go with SLC...

Salt Lake City - Way overrated. Gets too much attention IMO.
Austin - Way overrated too. And it's still in Texas. UGH.
Denver - Way overrated too.
Kansas City - Gets enough attention as it deserves. Probably underrated overall.
Okalahoma City - Gets the least attention on this list. Probably because it's in OK.
Minneapolis - Gets fair attention. Nice city.
Portland - Way overrated. Too many phony hipsters.
Phoenix - Gets a lot of attention. Most is not positive, but it's attention either way.

I don't know. This may just be me. But I think cities that don't normally have water and do not naturally grow trees should not get this big. It's just.... FUGLY and it's a huge waste of resources.

Phoenix and Las Vegas and pretty much every city in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico tops my list of least favorite cities to live in. Just can't stand desert climates. FUGLY.

They are TOTALLY OVERRATED as far as cities go.

Kansas City (both Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri) are also the intended first demo case of google's experimental fiber optics network. That is pretty exciting.

I think the massive inner city demographic loss for Kansas City probably has a lot to do with making the place less attractive, but it's got good bones to potentially build on. It might also hurt from not having particularly great universities in the area (good, but not exactly at the top of the rankings).

Overrated? I don't think so.
