eman360, Charles Lindbergh was born in Detroit, his childhood home considered for a historic site except I guess it was beyond repair.
If this is about famous people period, regardless of profession, then I can see these lists becoming unmanageable. Michigan, for one, has too many to mention, but I'm sure other states have similar lists.

Some I can think of: David Allen Grier, both Robin Williams and Pam Dawber, Jim Bakker, actress Gillian Anderson, Sandra Bernhard, Selma Blair, Rosa Parks, Christie Brinkley, Alice Cooper, Dave Coulier, Jeff Daniels, Harry Morgan, Tom Skerritt, David Spade, Della Reese, James Earl Jones, Robert Wagner, Steven Seagal, Verne Troyer, George Peppard, Lee Majors, Dick York, Dick Enberg, Bob Eubanks, Steve Garvey Sugar Ray Robinson, (not the only athletes by a long shot), Kirk Gibson, Serena Williams, Derek Jeter, Magic Johnson, Berry Gordy, Bob Seger, Diana Ross, Sinbad, Gilda Radner, Lily Tomlin, C.W. Post and Will Kellogg (yeah those guys).
I mean how ridiculous you want to get? Maybe we should just categorize. Here is a list of actors only.
IMDb: Most Popular People Born In "Michigan/ USA"

It's easier to browse lists than type them all out.

huh, too bad Detroit didn't care enough to keep it from falling down.

not to worry though, we still have his real childhood home in Minnesota well-preserved.
