Out of all the cities with four distinct weather seasons. Which city in your opinion takes advantage of summer to it's full potential?

When I was in Anchorage, AK during summer solstice, I had seen people barbequeing at midnight (still some daylight). Even the kids would be up that late playing in the backyards. People sleep for about 3-4 hours. They could be out fishing for 12-14 hours at a time. If you ask them when they sleep, they'll respond "Winter"! The lion's share of Alaska's tourists all show up in the summer also. If that isn't maximizing summer's potential then I don't know what does.

I think Upstate NY cities due to packing a lot of festivals/cultural offerings into the summer months that are outdoors. If there is a beach, that's when it gets a lot of use and there are more people out and about.

Chicago. Seriously.

I'm biased because I'm from the city, but honestly, that city KNOWS how to develop potential summer bliss into reality.

Caphillsea77 is sad that summer is coming to a close. He works too much and didn't get nearly enough beach time. Although he loves fall, he wishes summer wasn't so short. And today is September 1st? Oyyy!! The holidays will coming rolling right in!

I'd say Chicago or Seattle. Probably any of the cities that gets extreme cold weather or lack of sunlight in the winter.

I'll go with Chicago too...the city really knows how to have a party in the summer after a long winter and a spring that just teases you with brief runs of nice weather

I'd prob have to agree with Chicago as far as what I've seen. The city gets a lot of pent up energy during the winter months, and really goes all out during summer. Beaches, the lake, festivals coming out of your ass, boats everywhere, tourists everywhere, concerts everywhere, sidewalk cafes everywhere, houses, stores and public buildings overflowing with flowers, ferns and palms. I'm always amazed at how GREEN Chicago gets during the summer. People here really love their plants and flowers.

Chicago.

It feels like a completely different city than compared in the winter time. Everything happens in the summer time here. From end of May to end of September, the city is packed and everyone seems to be busy busy busy with different things going on every week.
