The joke's on you actually, Orlando offers a fantastic lifestyle with Disney and without. Now had Disney never came here, yes it would be a much different town, but now Orlando is no longer a 1 trick pony and many people live here for years without any noticeable influence from Disney whatsoever.

Actually, it's on Orlando and more than likely always will be b/c most Americans snicker at what they see.

Orlando offering a good lifestyle is completely subjective. I am not a retired snowbird who wants to eat the early bird special at 4 p.m. Also, I am not a child who is going to jump for joy to see Mickey Mouse. I want to advance my career, make money and am single. Therefore, I want no part of Orlando.

Orlando is dull to me with or without Disney.

Clearly they fall prone to believing stereotypes or judging the city after a visit to I-Drive or WDW.

Sure I'll agree, it's completely subjective, but everything else you listed is 100% in accurate.

What do you like to do that you cannot do in Orlando, help qualify your opinion.

So you know what most Americans think about Orlando?

Yes, it is subjective. But you seemingly have no clue what you're talking about.

Orlando is a normal city like anyother. To say that it would be nothing without Disney isn't true. If Orlando didn't have disney, I have no doubt that it would still be a nice city.

As for the second statement i Highlighted..i really don't see how those things you can't also get in orlando.

I don't understand why people think Orlando is all about Theme parks and all that stuff. Its a great city like any other.

They snicker at what they see? Well they keep going back for more snickering.

We were in a Casino in Atlantic City with Friends, I told them we were going to take a walk on the Boardwalk and see the ocean. My friend replied; "They have an Ocean?"

Orlando without Disney is Jacksonville

AC without the casinos is a dead/unsafe beach resort

I appreciate both for what they are, both offer something different and do fairly well for what they offer.

It is what it is. A city is a city. No matter what they visit it for. Too many "what if's".

You guys are seriously downplaying nightlife in Orlando to the point of being annoying. Downtown Orlando on a weekend night is VERY LIVELY, and yes I have a base to judge that against having been out in Vegas, NYC, Philly, Miami, Atlanta, etc. There are well over 40 bars suiting many different tastes, and they are all within walking distance of each other. About the only thing we don't have are huge mega-clubs, and most of our bars/clubs are not as upscale on the level of major nightlife destinations. Still, the streets are teeming with people out drinking and it is a very fun atmosphere. It is not "family friendly" and aside from the casinos there is nothing more adult about AC than DT Orlando. I have been to AC. It did not seem any more wild to me at all. I went into most of the casinos, but perhaps I missed all this nightlife. The only downside to Orlando is the 2:00 last call. What is funny is that around Orlando most people complain that DT Orlando is TOO bar focused!
