Of these, only San Francisco has all 4 pro sports. That may be a factor.

Since when is LA weather considered "HOT"?

It depends on where in L.A. you're talking about. I was there one October and I had to smile at the weather forecast: "70 degrees today along the Santa Monica pier, 102 in the Valley."
