While Miami has gone through a big transition. It still isn't easily one of the best in the country. We only have two solid top 2 skylines, which are NYC and CHI. People may disagree, but these are easily the most solid.
Yes, NY and CHI are the only Division One skylines in the USA. The only other one in the Western Hemisphere that I think also qualifies as Division One in Sao Paulo. SP is weird - it has 5600 high rises but not a single one over 600 feet. Still, the veritable endless sea of high rises puts it in the top tier of cities world wide IMO.
If we were to consider all of North America's skylines, Vancouver would place third. Very impressive city! VCV often is seen substituting for NYC or CHI as the "big city" in many hollywood movies such as Blade, Xmen, or many others.
The spires are part of the overall architecture of the individual towers. That can't be so easily dismissed as it is a significant factor in determining which skyline is best--at least for me it is.
I realize that and have been to ATL many times. My point was other than the buildings with spires, there's nothing too impressive about the skyline. It's not that dense or tall but I do like the buildings with the spires. I wish Houston had a spire to two to go along with the rest of the skyline. ATL is a beautiful city but best southern/southereastern skyline it is most certainly not in my opinion.

Do they photoshop the mountains out or something?lol
Atlanta has a gorgeous skyline in my opinion. It reminds me of a smaller version of NY.
