I would never want to live in Las Vegas or anywhere north of I-40 and not on the West Coast. I cant really handle cold.

Anywhere South of I-40, on the West Coast, or in a large metro area of either works for me.

It's a stretch to call Cheyenne a metro or to include it with any of those other cities.

is that why it was the number one metro people moved to last decade and the number two that people moved to the decade before? Also is it the reason why it is the number two city young adults are moving to, and tops many other cities to move to list?

everybody has their preferences I suppose, I have never been to Houston but believe that I would like it (I imagine that it would be culturally closer to the west coast than to the south.) I plan on visiting one day soon to see what it is like

The thread was about METROS. Have you been all over metro Detroit including Royal Oak, Birmingham, Ann Arbor (I know people don't consider it a suburb, but it really is). Even as a downtown it has way more than the others (well except Las Vegas maybe).

Now if you were talking about strictly city neighborhoods? Then at least your answer would at least reflect awareness and knowledge.
Downtown Detroit has way more than downtown Indianapolis? I have to say I much prefer downtown Indy. Now if we are talking Metro area, that's a different story.

While Houston has some similarities to the West Coast, it is more cultually in line with the South. If you hated Dallas (since that was on the top of your list of places you would never live), you probably wont love Houston.

They have their differences, but I have yet to meet someone who loves one and hates the other.

It's all those things because it's practically the only place in America where anyone can find work anymore. Jobs, cheap housing, and stifling heat 9 months of the year....if that's your thing. Trust me....if the employment and economic playing field were level with every major metro in the U.S. Houston wouldn't even be talked about. It's a bunch of shiny glass buildings sticking out of a sweaty swamp. I lived it. We used to throw saddles on the cockroaches and ride them to school back in the day.
