Austin isn't world class (unless you're talking about live music or brisket), but there's been a strong occupy scene here for quite some time now. Quite a few arrests and some scuffles.
I think the strength of it here has more to do with it being a large capital city than anything else.
The Reading Eagle had an article about "Occupy Reading". But I think it was just homeless people lined up at a soup kitchen. Round here it isn't anything out of the ordinary.
Philly does, for now - the city was very accommodating prior to elections, now there has been some mild disagreement, nothing on the scale of what some other cities have dealt with.
Philly's at least seems to lack focus and is beginning to miss the point. I was in support of the general idea of the movement and general accountability, but this seems destined to taper off without making any lasting dent.
We even had one way up here in Northern Idaho. The 30 degree weather didn't keep our 12 people from representing Sandpoint's 99%!!!
