I would say that when I visted Chicago I really didn't think I would like but after my vist there 3 years ago,I really see why people like the city.We stayed in a suburb called Boiling Brook,Illinois and it was a nice area. The people where friendly but that was the longest drive ever.Overall I like it and probably would go again in the future.I didn't get to see the Sears tower upfront but next time I will.

Well I don't know about the poll, but cities that I liked more than I thought that I would were:

Sacramento
Minneapolis
New Orleans
Dallas
Detroit

Cities that I thought that I would like more than I did:

Boise
Spokane
Denver
Atlanta
Miami
Tampa
Orlando
Portland

But this is about preconception. I'm not saying that Detroit is better than Atlanta or Sacramento is better than Portland, just that some cities, while nice, weren't as nice as I expected while others were better than anticipated.

I think want dee936 is trying to say is what city have you been to that you thought you wouldn't like, but ended up liking it. I had a similar situation where I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida back in 2009 and wasn't really sure if I was going to end up liking it or not. In which I did liking it for the most part.

I really have no plans to go to Chicago because I just don't know much about it and there are a ton of other cities I would rather go to first but I think if I actually went I would probably enjoy myself. I'm still in no hurry to go there.

I think I would hate Atlanta and doubt a trip there would change my mind. Everything I've seen and heard about Atlanta bothers me.

Baltimore I'm unsure about. I know absolutely nothing about it.

I've been to Dallas and New York City multiple times and love it.

I want to go to Los Angeles someday and I'm sure I would enjoy it. I'm just not in any hurry to go. So many other cities I want to go to first.

I have liked everywhere that I have been so I picked every city on the poll except the one I live in.
