Congratulations on completely missing the point! That's quite an accomplishment.

I'd take Manhattan over the Westside, but LA over NYC.

Would you like to clarify ? What's the purpose of your YouTube clip of Venice if not to disprove that Westside L.A. is the second most urbane area in the NA?

Wait, this poll includes Venice/Santa Monica/MDR? Hm. If that's the case, then I'll have to take LA after all... I thought it just meant West LA.

The Westside of Los Angeles is extremely idyllic.

Definitely.

Like I said... add SM, Venice, MDR, BH and the canyons to the mix... LA by a landslide for me!

whats with all these ppl thinking LA can be compared with NY.

You can't compare some comglomerated suburb to a world class city

You see, it even inspires poetry.

I went to West LA today to pick a piece of furniture. Crazy clear- you could see the Hollywood sign & Griffith Observatory from the South Bay. Almost as amazing was the absence of traffic on the 405; thought i was having a 70's flashback. But again, the air was considerably chunkier back then. When freeways actually work, they f'n rock. I'll be the first to admit the appeal of LA swings wildly depending on traffic and clarity. But to see that large a city situated in that rare a climatic and geographic context is just really...mellow.
