You realize how paper thin and childish this argument is right? Keep the thread going all winter and report which city is colder EVERY day.

Want to take a guess which city will be warmer by a long shot?

So denver doesn't get wintery weather for a longer range then chicago?

I don't know what point you are trying to make. It is pretty obvious looking at the weather record which has the milder winter...Randomly selecting a few days just makes you look a bit foolish. It's more likely to snow in October in Denver than it is in Chicago... if that is what you are getting at. But it is also more likely to be 55 and sunny in Denver in January.

Denver had 7 days in the 50s in Jan last year, 2 days in the 60s, and 13 days in the 40s. Only 10 days were in the 30s or below.. Add to that that many of those days are at sunny and high altitude which makes it feel even warmer with the sun on your face. This is pretty typical. Chicago is not like this in the winter. How are you possibly arguing they are similar?! I've been in both in January, they aren't similar!!!

In contrast chicago had ONE day this January over 40 degrees at a whopping 43.

Now which has the milder winter?

Denver this January

Chicago this January

Here is Chicago in MARCH

I'd take Denver in January over Chicago even in March. It's similar temps, and quite a bit sunnier.

Well sure, the average makes it seem milder but half those days will be colder then chicagos.

Constant 30s keeps the average at around 30 throughout a couple months.
Temps going crazy from 70 to 0 within a couple months might make it seem like 40 or 50 on average.

You haven't spent a full winder in Denver...have you? The climate in Denver is by far milder in the winter...Its a fact! Choosing specific days is foolish. Thats like picking Chicago on its colder day and comparing it to Denver on one of its warmer days of winter.

Half the time? No. Maybe colder than Chicago like 30% of the time.

Which has milder winters? Lets see, by your logic Chicago will hold steady at 30 (it won't) and Denver will spike in the 70's. Is 30 degrees warmer than 70? What am I missing?

Oh and try to pretend Chicago doesn't experience extreme cold, I will post next time you are in the negatives.

Last winter the pattern was weeks of 40-50 degree weather with some days up to 70, then a snowstorm or a cold-snap. Then right back to weeks of great weather, so far this winter is following the same pattern. The warm days are not sprinkled among cold ones, it is quite the opposite.
